Jeremy D. Howard is a Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer (LAT, ATC) in Southwest Florida, he is employed at Ave Maria University’s (AMU) Department of Sports Medicine as an Athletic Trainer for Baseball, Women’s Basketball, Men’s Soccer, and both Men’s and Women’s Golf. Jeremy also works as an Adjunct Professor for Florida Gulf Coast University’s (FGCU #DunkCity) Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training Program where he teaches Professional Level Athletic Training Students in Concussion Education and Management. Finally, Jeremy has also been a member of the Florida Army National Guard since February of 2002. He is currently a Warrant Officer.
Jeremy is an alumn of FGCU’s Athletic Training Program where his final research project was focused on ACL Injury Prevention programs. He is also an alum of the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences’ Masters of Health Science in Athletic Training where he specialized in Concussions and completed a culminating project in the development of a Residency in Athletic Training Leadership and Collegiate Athletics. He is currently pursuing an educational doctorate (EdD) in health sciences at the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences with an intended dissertation focus in Concussion and Return-to-Learn.
Jeremy holds nearly 40 professional credentials in the fields of both health and strength and conditioning. His passions in research and learning lie in both concussion (mTBI) and sports; as well as, TBI as it relates to the military.

Alyssa Reidy is a Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer (LAT, ATC) in Southwest Florida contracted through Premier Sports Medicine. She is currently progressing through the Florida Gulf Coast University Doctorate of Physical Therapy program with an intended dissertation focus on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in the Rehabilitation Setting.
Alyssa holds several professional credentials within the health profession as well as in the group fitness industry. She volunteers with the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School annually and aspires to return to the Western U.S.

Hans Smelker is a Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer (LAT, ATC) and Head Athletic Trainer at Palmetto Ridge High School in Naples, Florida. Hans earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Athletic Training at Florida Gulf Coast University where he also spent a year as an intern with the Boston Red Sox. Immediately after graduating in 2014, Hans began working as Head Athletic Trainer at Bishop Verot High School while also working in the physical therapy department at A. Kagan Orthopedics. During this time Hans worked closely with the doctors and patients to design, facilitate, and oversee the rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries and post-surgical recuperation. Hans also returned to Florida Gulf Coast University during this same time in order to pursue a Masters in Health Science with an Education Concentration, which he completed in August of 2017. For his masters capstone project, Hans researched and designed an entire high school course curriculum for students and athletes focused on providing a knowledge base about the human body, how it functions and gets injured, and active methods for preventing injuries via specific exercises.
In 2016, Hans was hired by Naples Community Hospital to help fulfill an outreach contract in conjunction with Collier County Public Schools for Head Athletic Trainers, and was assigned to Palmetto Ridge High School. Hans is passionate about the profession of Athletic Training and about teaching high school and FGCU interns that are assigned to Palmetto Ridge about sports medicine, rehabilitation of injuries, and the human body and its functions.

Matt is a licensed and certified (LAT,ATC) athletic trainer in Northeast Indiana. He works at Homestead High School through Optimum Performance Sports. Matt possesses certifications in Corrective Exercises through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and is an ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer through ImPACT Applications, Inc. Matt is an alumni of Indiana University’s Bachelor of Science Athletic Training Program. Prior to his current position, Matt spent 3 seasons working in the NBA as the Director of Sports Medicine for the NBA Development League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. During this time, Matt worked closely with the medical staff of the Indiana Pacers to provide extraordinary care for professional athletes.
As a member of the Development League, Matt was a vital part in the creation and implementation of the NBA D-League Athletic Trainers’ Association where he served as the Director of Communications and Vice President.

Brandon Fromhoff is a Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer (LAT, ATC) in Southern Florida. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) where he also earned the coveted Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition or CISSN credential.
He is currently progressing through the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences’ Masters of Health Science in Athletic Training program where he will shortly earn the ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer (ITAT) credential.
Brandon’s clinical and research passions include Manual Therapy and Nutrition in relation to concussion management and the management of various other lesions and pathologies.
